A Winter Gathering

She sure has found a way to make friends in the snow...:)
I just love winter scenes, there is something calm and almost still about them that seems to fascinate me, and I hope the moment depicted in this painting has managed to capture that strange stillness.

A Winter Gathering
acrylics on canvas, 10 x 8 inch. unframed, 13.5 x 11.5 inch. framed

She - and her snow bunny friends - will make her way to the shop soon, along with more new original work. More on that soon!

Little Red Riding Hood and The Gentle Wolf

I have been busy as a bee these days, working on a handful of new paintings to be released around mid to late September, and it seemed about time I start sharing them with you :)
And here is the first one:
Little Red Riding Hood and The Gentle Wolf, acrylics on canvas, 10 x 12 inch., 13 x 15 inch. framed
However Little Red Riding Hood had long outgrown her fear of a particularly cunning creature that roamed the woods, she was much surprised to find that one peculiar wolf of gentle manners - and no interest whatsoever in her grandmother's wardrobe - would chaperone her to her weekly visits to her cottage.

A lovely September to everyone! I am so overjoyed that Autumn is finally here :)

She kindly let me know that it is now permanently 'embedded' in her:

Hoot!

I have been looking at these little feathery creatures more often than usual lately ~ as I am currently working on a little portrait painting co-starring an owl~ and thought I would share some of the gorgeous images I have found around the net:
I fell in love with this beautiful wallpaper from Abigail Edwards. My, If green-blues accented with gold could be indexed as one color, it would be my absolute favorite :) And now I really really wish we could have some wallpaper...sigh. We are currently renting, so I can't possibly bear the thought of having to go through wallpaper-ing  the house if I am going to have to say goodbye in a few months' time.... oh well.

Some lovely owl-inspired jewelry:
 1. Medal of Honor in Owl by Modcloth
2. Gold shell owl necklace by Dorothy Perkins
3. Small Owl Locket Necklace by Urban Outfitters
4. Chubby Owl Clamp Bangle by Asos
5. Odell's Owl Cocktail Ring by Emitations
6. Owl Ring by Fashiolista
7. Enameled Owl Ring by Asos
Owl Table Lamp by West Elm.
Want.:) ~Although I would prefer it in a creamy tone instead of white...

I hope you are all having a lovely week!

A Balancing Act

After having spent many years antagonizing each other, Alma, connoisseur extraordinaire of equilibrium, and Sebastian, virtuoso of stilt walking, finally realized they had much more in common than either one of them would have ever thought, and decided to join acts and hearts alike.
A Balancing Act, acrylics on canvas, 10 x 12 inch., 13 x 15 inch. framed

More details on the upcoming shop update tomorrow :)

The Little Fox

“Men have forgotten this truth," said the fox.
"But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”
Antoine De Saint-Exupery, The Little Prince (1943)

The Little Fox, acrylics on canvas, 8 x 10 inch., 11.25 x 13 inch. framed

I have one more piece to share with you (a companion of sorts to this painting), and then everything will be in the shop :)

Take Me Home

Amelia and this rather lonesome little raccoon met in the forest on a warm spring afternoon, and after having spent such a lovely time in the girl's company (during which she told him stories of garden parties filled with cupcakes, tea and meringues), the little creature insisted that she took him with her so that he could live in that same, sweet-filled world as her.

Take Me Home, acrylics on canvas, 8 x 10 inch., 11.25 x 13 inch. framed

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend :)

Elma and the Red Squirrel

All dressed-up in her pretty striped dress and the prettiest of purses, this little sweetie poses by the forest lake along her red furry friend, who is holding eagerly on his precious acorn.
I am so envious of her cherry-adorned little bag and cherry-red shoes!

The Curious Sailor

'So, we hear you want to sail the seven seas', said the ducks to Milo.
'Take heed, little boy, for adventures are always better experienced with a friend at your side'
And it was in this fashion that the three of them became inseparable.

Oscar And The Otter

After being in the Otter's presence for a while, Oscar soon realized that they were even more alike that he would have thought.
They were both inquisitive, playful and intelligent little things, although Oscar couldn't say he shared in the Otter's enjoyment in sliding around on the muddy bank!

Oscar And The Otter, acrylics on canvas, 8 x 10 inch., 11.25 x 13 inch. framed

As you can see, I have finally found what seems to me to be the perfect kind of frame to host my painted editorial. I just love its intricate details and I can't believe how warm and rich its golden tones are. I have been searching for the perfect golden colour for my frames for quite some time now, and I think I have finally found it :)

And after I have shared the narrative of each painting with you, they will make their way to the little shop!
