A Fairytale Of Sorts Is On Its Way...

...it will have to be told in paintings, though, at least for the time being. I have been working on a new series lately, and this one will most probably land in the little shop
around the end of October, as it is still in progress (and requires quite a few paintings for the story to be told as efficiently as possible). The first few are ready, though, so without any more prolonging, allow me to introduce you to Madeleine:

Madeleine Dreams, acrylics on canvas, 10 x 12 in.

Madeleine is an only child, and no matter how many times she has asked her parents for a little brother, or a little sister (that she would name Mallow and Marsh, respectively) they have denied her that favor for their own unspecific grown-up reasons. Madeleine has repeatedly asked them to tell her why they refuse to do so, but instead of answers, she receives gifts of toys, big ones and little ones, as in her parents' minds, that alone is enough to keep her little head occupied.

Where Things In The Mail Make The Pain Go Away...

I have a confession to make...
Every single time I am expecting something to arrive in the mail for the wee shop, I wake up not in a very different manner that you would expect from a 4-year old in Christmas morning. I can't explain it really, but I guess it has something to do with seeing my scribblings materialized into all sorts of wonderful things. So I woke up this morning with a (still) sore foot, to find a big brown box waiting for me on my desk ( William had put it there, not Santa), and it might as well had been a beautifully wrapped box with a red bow.
And then we opened it up, and there came all the 'ooohs' and 'aaaaahs', and similar exclamations of admiration for the final product!

They are lovely as postcards, thank-you notecards, or as a very cute way indeed to acquire the whole collection and have them framed!

The pack consists of 6 postcards, one of each of:
-The Great Escape
-The Spinster
-The Safe Place
-Comfortably Numb
-The Defeatist
-Caught In Time
Each postcard is printed on premium, 215 gsm glossy fronted card stock, with a blank matte back side, and measures 5.5 x 4.2 in.

The set comes with 6 gorgeous white envelopes, wrapped with a paper band and packaged up in a sealed plastic sleeve.

They are oh-so-lovely!
and they are now in the shop!

And as I am still in quite a lot of pain, I spent the better half of today packing these little
lovelies up in their little cello sleeves...

I wish you all a wonderful week!

Little Accidents

Last week we were coming back from the grocery store and as we had quite the number of bags, and as the next bus wasn't until 45 minutes later, we decided to take a cab. The ( rather stupid on my behalf ) injury occurred as we were getting off the cab, as I decided to pick up about 2 exceedingly heavy bags in each hand while doing so. The result was in order to keep my balance, all the weight was taken by my left foot, and as it turned out later on, it proved too much for it. So now a week has passed and it still hurts, plus it is now a little swollen and is keeping me from doing many planned exciting things that I was looking forward to, one of which was to attend the Brighton Art Fair this weekend...:(
On a brighter note, though, my lovely hedgehog of a boyfriend will be going and taking pictures for me, so I ( and you! ) will get a peak at all the wonderful things that I will miss seeing in person...
In the meantime, I am staying home and sorting out my supplies space...

...and, I can still paint, which is what I have been doing non - stop for the past few days, and I will soon be showing you some new paintings and other little surprises!

I hope your weekend has been lovely so far!!!
