Fawning Over You

As promised, here is a new painting I would like to share with you today!

Fawning Over You, acrylics on canvas, 5 x 7 in.

I have long had a rather soft spot for fawns...they seem so elegant, innocent, and the kindest of creatures one would hope to befriend.
More to come tomorrow!

I Have Been Quite The Busy Bee...

...hence the silence all these days!
I have been adding the finishing touches to some new works and dolls for the little shop (more on those later in the week!), which has kept me up most nights of the week...I have noted that I can very easily loose track of time when I am painting, which is both good and bad. Good since I am obviously having that much fun that hours just seem to fly by, and bad since sometimes you lift your head up from the canvas only to find out that it is 3.00 or 4.00 in the morning...But I simply can't help myself, being a night owl. :)

We will be flying back to Greece for Easter this Friday, and I can hardly wait! I haven't seen so many friends in such a long time, and I miss my mum and this little mister enormously.

So hopefully tomorrow I will go do some much needed springtime shopping in preparation for the much warmer temperatures over in Athens.
And speaking of spring, I found this photo of me today while going through old photographs, and I just found it so amusing, and knew I had to share it with you!

It almost looks as if I am playing 'he loves me, he loves me not' with the poppy, no?

The Princess And The Pea

This one fairytale always had a special place in my heart...I love how she was so persnickety as to notice the little pea in the first place...

The Princess And The Pea, acrylics on canvas, 5 x 7 in.

I must admit to being as persnickety myself (though not regarding peas camouflaged under layers and layers of bedding). I have been know to pay extreme attention to details in an often irritating way...I guess it goes hand in hand with being a Virgo...:)

Golden Locks

I 've been revisiting old fairytales for the past couple of months, and inevitably they have made their way into my work...here's one more of the new paintings, with many more to follow...

Golden Locks, acrylics on canvas, 5 x 7 in.

I just love her shimmering curls and her striped stockings!

Which was your favourite fairytale growing up? Mine has to be The Steadfast Tin Soldier and The Little Match Girl.
