Two New Little Prisons Prints and An Ornament

This week is being quite hectic so far, with all the packing, the sorting of what-to-take-and-what-to-leave-behind, (which can be quite difficult, if you are me) and the saying-goodbyes. It hasn't, however, been that hectic for me (compulsive stuff-maker) to stop making new things for the wee shop.

So, without further ado, I give you:

The Great Escape, wall ornament,
mini print on vintage glass crystal, 2.4 x 1.8 in.

I am so in love with their packaging...It even has the stripes that run throughout this whole theme...

Also, as two original paintings sold last night, their prints will now be available for purchase in two sizes, 8.3 × 11.7 in. and 11.7 x 16.5 in.

The Safe Place Print

and:

Comfortably Numb Print

You can find all five of them around 10 am EST, right here.

And On A Sad, Sad Note...

So some of you may already know that we are to move to Brighton, UK, in early September. And that I wanted to take my little companion with me.

But then the harsh numbers of it all started rolling in. So firstly, we had to add £300 to the deposit for the house. The airline will charge us 140 euros to transfer it on board our flight (apparently you can only travel to the UK with a pet listed as cargo, and the pet checks in THREE hours before you do...) and then we would pay £ 150-ish as soon as we got there as a fee to an increase to their pet population...(?)Then it would take £ 140 to take a cab from London Heathrow to Brighton, as coaches over there DO NOT accept pets, even if they are guide dogs...Now...I love my cat. I suppose I can sit through a 3-and-a-half-hour-flight and try to keep cool and calm while picturing him in some strange compartment, non-sedated (you are not allowed to do that, as it is apparently so much better for a Siamese never-been-out-of-home-cat to experience take-off, landing, and turbulence while being fully alert and wide awake in such a long flight), but I simply cannot, and believe me, there is noone who feels worse about this, gather that money to take him with us at this point, especially as the flat which we have rented is unfurnished, and those UK pounds are much needed for beds, closets, washing machines etc.....I feel terrible.Just terrible. And I want to cry. Simba is the kind of cat that when you are sad, stands by the bed and stares at you lovingly and won't go to sleep until you are feeling better..he is the kind of cat that when I was feeling down for a long time, some years ago, he lost weight and started sleeping outside my bedroom door...The kind of cat that when I leave home, waits behind the front door for me to come back, and just knows when I have returned...I am sorry for the rambling... But I know you will understand, and some even might feel/have felt the same way....

The Outcast

“Seek Love in the pity of others' woe,
In the gentle relief of another's care,
In the darkness of night and the winter's snow,
In the naked and outcast, seek Love there!”
William Blake

We all have felt like this sometimes, and all one really needs when feeling like this is the company of a warm embrace and a gentle heart...

The Outcast, acrylics on canvas, 7 x 10 in.

The two of them are now in the shop!
Happy Weekend everyone!
